A five-day Arabic calligraphy workshop was successfully held in Sri Lanka during the first week of April 2019, featuring sessions conducted by renowned calligrapher and trainer Ustaz Bandar. The workshop was organized with the sponsorship of KSA and was led by two expert resource persons from the International Arabic Language Centre, RiyadhUstaz Bandar and Dr. Salih from Madina University.

Held at the invitation of the Ministry of Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs, the program was made possible through the efforts of the then Minister Haleem and Secretary Mr. Meegasmulla, to whom special gratitude was extended.

Around 25 participants benefited from this immersive training, gaining invaluable expertise in Arabic calligraphy. The Saudi Embassy and the Riyadh Arabic Language Centre also expressed their commitment to continuing their support for the development and promotion of Arabic calligraphy in Sri Lanka, ensuring the preservation and growth of this revered art form.
